"It was May 6, 2016, I was on the couch with my wife while we watched a movie QuoVado by Checco Zalone, after more than 11 years around the world as a sports director I had been without a club for a few months, no one in Italy was looking for me, I wanted to work in Italy because I realised that football was giving me so much but at the same time it was taking away something that was more important, time with my family.

Then I had an idea, more than an idea it was a dream, I had already imagined everything, everything that then in 10 years I realised.

The dream was to build my dream team, a team that first of all in terms of personal data and then in terms of budget it was impossible to realise, and so I decided to create The Wine Of The Champions, a football team made with wine bottles, the bottles that I produced, but, these bottles were not supposed to be just a marketing stunt, much more, every football legend would have made his own labels in partnership with me.

Well, today after 10 years I tell you that that team, my team, is called The Wine Of The Champions.

I would have a thousand things to write, but, a post wouldn't be enough, so don't worry because NBC Universal (you understood Universal correctly - That's why I want to thank the director Julio Sonino for making it possible) in recent years has decided to make a TV Docu Series, which will finally be exclusive worldwide on Telemundo Deportes in early June 2026, so there is very little left.

Keep dreaming, because without dreams life has no meaning.

I want to thank all those who believed in me, first of all my wife Titti, who despite a thousand difficulties and sacrifices has never stopped supporting me, my sons Oscar and Yago, my brother Luigi who has been working by my side for almost 9 years, my father Fernando who takes care of the vineyards, my mother  Francesca for his support, my brotherly friend Mimmo who has been sharing a thousand adventures with me for 48 years, my collaborators Marco and Andrea, Eleonora, Massimiliano and Giovanna who with thoroughness and professionalism take care of the accounting part, every single collaborator who grows the vineyards, our Oenologist Nicola Leo, our graphic designer Ivan Greco, Massimo Della Marta who makes the best showcases for us in the world, our Master Wine Sommelier Sabatino Sorrentino, our partner producers: Sandro Bottega, Salvo Marino from Cantine Birgi, Gianni Maccari from Ridolfi, Flavio Nuti from Podere La regola, Maxime from Champagne Harlin - Francois Janoueix - Mauro - Alessandro and Marella from Distilleria Giori , I want to conclude with a special thanks to our champions and loyalists who help us in every fair around the world: Amauri - Seba Frey - Marek Jankulosvki- Julio Cesar - Vincent Candelà- Ronaldinho and Roberto- Ivan Zamorano and the brothers Giorgio and Armen Petrosyan.
